bigsixAlton Towers will be offering thrill seekers a return ticket for later in the season when they ride the park’s biggest coasters as part of the Big Six Challenge. Kingshouse Travel, who operate day trips from Scotland to Alton Towers Resort throughout the season confirmed the news on their Facebook page today.

The promotion will run from 1st May – 30th September 2015 and will involve guests downloading an app to their compatible phone. From there, a QR code will be featured at the exits of the participating rides which are:

  • The Smiler
  • Nemesis
  • Air
  • Rita
  • TH13TEEN
  • Oblivion

Users will need to scan the QR code to check in using the app at the exit of each participating ride to gain a wristband for a free return ticket later in the season. Dates for when return tickets will be valid and the release of the app are to be confirmed.

The promotion is a further step in the resort using mobiles in their marketing. As well as launching wifi in conjunction with The Cloud in recent years, a dedicated resort app and a game for The Smiler was also released.
