2015: Alton Towers Enchanted Village

I believe that might be the Spa extension rather than the lodges? The site behind the hotel looked vaguely similar to that minus the mound of dirt on Sunday night.

Looks to be in the area of the lodge development to me. Not a place where any of the lodges will actually go but part of the site. I'd imagine this is initial preparations taking place.

:)

Does this make anyone else sad, knowing that how ever slim the possibility was, there will never be another Scare Maze on that field?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but when are they expected to open? 8 months seems like a very short time period to have them ready for the 2015 opening.

It's the lodge site, down where the treehouses will be. :) I was watching workers putting markers into the ground down there earlier in the year!

Do we even know if the Spa extension is happening in 2015? I thought they would have left that until 2016 to spread out resort investments.

I think it will be more 10 or 11 months untill it opens. A late-May/early-June opening seems more likely for this project. It hasn't been confirmed, although I'm sure they will be aiming for opening around that time. The lodges themselves probably won't take that long to construct, the plumbing, electrical, foundations, landscaping etc will most likely be the long bit, then lodge constructions will be a quick 3-5 month job, maybe even shorter.

I find it sad that there will never be a scare maze on that field too. :( Although it was unlikely to ever happen again, now that they have all mazes in the park.

Seems to be a fence being erected behind ATH too (looks like ATH garden), so maybe this is preparation for the Spa/Hotel extension to be constructed behind it?

To be fair it looks rather well planned out wouldn't of thought towers would bull a demonstration lodge in the theme park but I would like to stay in one

I hope the have the demo lodge is open to look around. If they do, there will be a sales staff or two trying to get prebooking.

By building a showcase lodge on the theme park, it's the most crucial way of advertising and gauging interest for the village at this stage in the development. They won't be able to accommodate a large group of guests looking in them at once, but I have to tip my hat to whoever came up with the idea of this method of advertising.

Here are a few photos from TowersStreet Facebook page from yesterday:

Had a look the other day, size wise they look about the same size as a ATH room and bugger than a Splash room. In person they are quite charming.

The doors look awful; by painting them to look aged they look worse than if the paint had actually come off over years of wear. I don't mind the weathering on the walls, but the doors would look significantly better if they were smartly painted the same shade of green all over.

I do wonder what the 'enchanted' will be. The lodges look nice but I hope the area is sufficiently themed to compliment. We know how well relying on natural wooded surroundings works as theming *cough*dark florist*cough*

The doors look fine to me.

I question the lack of windows.

Perhaps the room layouts are too small for window placement? When I last had a look, the relatively small windows at the side and back actually seemed the ideal size for the given room, despite their small structure. The lodges would obviously benefit from a medium sized window on each side, but I imagine that decision was turned down in favour of the vinyl covered wall on each interior side wall.

I too think the doors look too weathered. Maybe if they were surrounded by pine trees (as they could eventually be) it would feel right but given that everything else has a beige look there isn't enough green for my liking. Would be easier if they painted them a strong green then let nature take its course.

That aside though they look great.
